11th April: Ok so Women's Day and the NZ Women's Weekly do it....So here is Mix and Match...Bucko Style. Which great angler landed which fish...Great job ladies...AWESOME FISH!!!

1st April: New feedack has been placed...Check it out!!!
20th March: King Fish are running RED HOT!!! We had some very happy anglers. The day started as normal. Fired a popper out and around the boy just to see what things were doing. Out to get our live bait and we had our lines in the water and even before 9.30am had struck we had landed 7 Kingis. That's right 7 fish in about 2 hours. So our day concluded with 12 King fish (ranging in size from 10-16Kg), but we had some anglers walk away with a day the will NEVER forget.

23rd December: Fish, Fish and more FISH!!! The weather is starting to heat up and the warmer currents are on the way down. It has been a slower start than other years but now the fish are starting to bite…and BITE BIG!!! If you are looking at coming up, or down over the holiday break you had better get in fast.

7th December: Isn't she a beauty??? For all those fisherman you know what I mean…She's quiet, fast, and just looks GREAT!!! For all those people who are unsure what I mean, look past the fish, past the ladies and you will see my new pride and joy…a NEW 140hp Johnson/Suzuki Outboard, quiet 4 stroke, cruises at 22 knots but tops out and an unbelievably modest 31 knots…NOW THAT'S FAST!!!

27th October: As you can see the kids are doing GREAT...Terakihi and Hapuka are still around, and in very good numbers. There are some very good size Snapper starting to show up in roe, so that is a very good sign!!!

21st October:
Now that the weather has settled down we are back into the fishing. I tell you what the Kingfish have been just waing for us...so much so check out our new...

1st - 10th August:
Well...The Kingfish arestill around and arein good numbers, we are landing some very good fish. I am sure you can tell by the smiles that it is 'hard' work being out there. The Snapper are trying to be elusive...but you know me, finding the fish is half the FUN!!!

18th - 31st July: The 'Magical Bay of Islands' has seen the welcome return of its favourite Royal visitor...That's right folks... THE KINGS ARE BACK. In such numbers that makes "clean up" an unnecessary luxury for a busy skipper...Such a great time. It is almost about time for a signature Bucko Snapper...SO WATCH THIS SPACE!

10 July: Another 20 lb Snapper yesterday…and finally large smiles were finally put on the faces of some welsh men…how quickly they forget about Rugby.

18-31 June: As for the fishing it has been great before the weather turned bad but hope fully it won't last much longer. I was fortunate enough to get two 20lbs last week and some other Snapper in double digits. The kings ARE around…while we are Snapper fishing they have been breaking the surface around us. There has been a lot of bird life on the north side of the bay…all in all GREAT.

1-17 June: The fishing this week has been great. Some very good fish landed. Weather looks great for next week. Check this page for regular updates.
